Rita was a princess before Grace but all you ever hear about is Grace. I think MGM only made it a big deal because they had a movie of hers coming out sadly it wasn’t that great.
Hellz yea! Of course, the reason people might make such a big deal about Gracie is because she stayed a princess throughout her life. Much as Rita loved Aly, they didn’t work out and she moved on to crazy eyed Dick Haymes, which was a *coughcough* bad choice. And MGM wasn’t making a big deal about it, they just had to make some sort of deal since she wasn’t going to be a contract player. Maybe Rita might have prefered that instead of Harry Cohn being a jerk about her leaving Colombia to marry Aly Khan.
